Following a tough defeat to the Indiana Pacers earlier in the week, Karl-Anthony Towns and the New York Knicks looked to get back on track before the All-Star break Tuesday night against the Philadelphia 76ers.
They certainly did that, as New York broke a record for their largest win against Philadelphia, earning a 49-point victory.
Jose Alvarado was the star of the show, knocking down eight three-pointers and recording five steals in what was his best game with New York since being acquired at the trade deadline.
Karl-Anthony Towns had a solid night in the paint with Joel Embiid ruled out, finishing with 21 points on 8-for-13 shooting to go along with 11 rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block.
That said, fans couldn't help but wonder about Towns' pregame antics. Ahead of the matchup, Towns was caught on camera not only signing 76ers jerseys, but more specifically Joel Embiid jerseys, making for quite an interesting combination.
Especially considering the rivalry between the two sides, as Joel Embiid has been known to trash-talk Knick fans, doing so earlier this season at Madison Square Garden.
Either way, New York got the win and the fans went home with a new autograph.
Following the All-Star break, the Knicks will return to action against the conference-leading Detroit Pistons. As for their next game against the 76ers, unless they meet in the playoffs, it won't come until next season. After going down 0-2 to begin the season series, New York won two straight games against their rivals to finish the series tied 2-2.
