The Knicks’ incredible playoff-winning streak grew to 13 games following Friday’s critical 105-104 win in Game 2 of the NBA Finals.
This improbable run has one BetMGM Sportsbook bettor, in particular, on cloud nine.
According to Malik Smith of the Post, this anonymous bettor first secured $1.1 million using a ladder strategy during the Knicks’ sweep of the Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals.
That same approach has remained lucrative through the opening pair of matchups in the NBA Finals.
During Game 1, when the Spurs were 4.5-point favorites, the bettor risked $150,000 on a five-bet spread ladder. The wagers included $10,000 on Knicks +4.5 (-105), $10,000 on Knicks +5.5 (-130), $20,000 on Knicks +6.5 (-150), $30,000 on Knicks +7.5 (-175), and $80,000 on Knicks +8.5 (-210).
Thanks to Jalen Brunson’s late-game heroics and a stifling defensive effort, the Knicks secured a 10-point victory, netting the bettor a profit of $85,787.55.
A bettor at @BetMGM wagered $445,000 on the @nyknicks to cover in Game 2:
$200,000 on Knicks +10.5 -225 ✅
$100,000 on Knicks +9.5 -200 ✅
$20,000 on Knicks +9.5 -185 ✅
$50,000 on Knicks +8.5 -170 ✅
$35,000 on Knicks +7.5 -145 ✅
$20,000 on Knicks +6.5 -120 ✅
$20,000 on…
Sticking with the winning formula for Game 2, the bettor then placed $445,000 across seven different spread bets ranging from Knicks +5.5 to +10.5, even with San Antonio favored by 6.5 points.
The Knicks covered once again behind a collective effort from Karl-Anthony Towns and Mikal Bridges, punctuated by another decisive bucket from Brunson. Spurs star Victor Wembanyama could not get an elbow jumper to fall, and the Knicks’ epic winning streak continued.

The series now moves to Madison Square Garden on Monday night for Game 3. Wembanyama and the Spurs enter the matchup as 2.5-point road underdogs, per BetMGM’s John Ewing.

Trailing 2-0 and entering survival mode, the question is, will the anonymous bettor pivot and back San Antonio with a new ladder?
Perhaps it is wiser to continue wagering on the Knicks, who have been undefeated in the playoffs for more than a month, with their last loss coming on April 23rd in Game 3 of the first round against the Hawks.
Either way, the atmosphere at MSG for Game 3 will be electric as the Knicks appear close to ending a 53-year championship drought.
