The New York Knicks are in the middle of the offseason, but injuries can still be an issue.

After losing in the Eastern Conference Finals, the Knicks have had an interesting offseason. The team fired Tom Thibodeau and took weeks before landing on Mike Brown as his replacement.

While the coaching search has dominated their offseason, the Knicks have also made some solid moves around the edges, adding Jordan Clarkson and Guerschon Yabusele in free agency. Up to this point, most of New York’s offseason news has been positive, but the Knicks announced some unfortunate news on Wednesday.

The team announced that forward Josh Hart underwent a procedure on his right ring finger. The Knicks also said that the injury occurred in the playoffs and that he is expected to resume basketball activities again this summer.

While other teams in the East are dealing with much more crushing injury situations, the Knicks would still love to be at full health and not need their players to have surgery. On the bright side, this injury shouldn’t impact the Knicks next season whatsoever.

With Hart set to be back this summer and likely set for training camp in the fall, the Knicks should have their starting lineup intact when the season gets going again. Considering Hart’s skillset, he should be a key piece of Brown’s rotation next season.

As the Knicks look to make another run to the Eastern Conference Finals and beyond next season, Hart will undoubtedly play a massive role. Assuming there are no hiccups in his recovery, the fan favorite will be ready to put on a show in Madison Square Garden again soon.
