Klint Kubiak rumor is terrible news for Seahawks OC's future in Seattle

The Super Bowl might be the last time we see offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak calling plays for the Seattle Seahawks.

That was always a possibility given all the interest he has drawn for head-coach vacancies, but a new rumor confirms the bleak outlook for Kubiak in Seattle.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Kubiak is going to take either the Las Vegas Raiders or Arizona Cardinals head-coach gig. Kubiak is slated to hold a second interview with both teams this weekend.

"[Klint Kubiak] is going to get the Raiders or the Cardinals job," Schefter said on The Pat McAfee Show.

McAfee pressed Schefter further, asking: "OK, so he's definitely getting one of those jobs?"

"He's definitely getting one of those jobs," Schefter responded.

The Seahawks and their fans were hoping Kubiak would return for another year, and the prospect of that happening was looking good as several head-coach jobs were filled over the last few weeks.

But the Raiders and Cardinals have been lurking throughout and now it appears one of the two will poach the Seahawks play-caller.

NFL insider Tony Pauline reported a few days ago that Kubiak is unlikely to take the Cardinals job, and he gave the Raiders a 60-40 chance to land Kubiak.

The Raiders do have the superior situation, at least in terms of personnel and cap space, so it makes sense Pauline gives them the advantage over Arizona.

Either way, the Seahawks appear set to enter the offensive coordinator market after the Super Bowl this coming Sunday.
