Last week, Klay Thompson celebrated his 36th birthday -- a reminder, perhaps, that his iconic NBA career is entering its final phase.
Thompson is under contract through next year with the Dallas Mavericks, but his fit in the heart of Texas has come into question as the Mavericks enter a rebuild around Cooper Flagg. Thompson, one of the greatest 3-point shooters of his era, is also averaging a career-low 11.6 points per game on 37.5 percent accuracy from beyond the arc -- also the lowest of his career.

But while Thompson's NBA future may be in some doubt, the four-time champion and Golden State Warriors legend received contract news of a different sort on Friday.
Thompson has signed a "lifetime deal" with the Chinese sportswear brand Anta, which has a longstanding relationship with the five-time All-Star.
The "legacy deal" extends beyond Thompson's playing career, which may well end in the next calendar year. Anta has sold more than 10 million "KT"-branded sneakers during their 12-year partnership with Thompson -- which will extend deep into the future.

Thompson is a potential contract buyout candidate as championship contenders arm themselves for the grueling postseason ahead. Though no one is certain as to where Thompson will be playing in the weeks ahead, one thing is for certain: where Thompson is, he'll be wearing Antas on his feet.
