Syracuse will have another Anthony on its men’s basketball roster next year.
Kiyan Anthony, the son of former SU and Knicks legend Carmelo Anthony, revealed his commitment Friday night during an episode of the “7PM in Brooklyn” podcast, selecting the Orange over USC and joining the program where Carmelo won a national championship in 2003 before his storied NBA career.
“The coaches were on me the earliest and they’ve been recruiting me since day one,” Anthony said about Syracuse in the past, according to 247Sports. “They really believe in me. My guy Sadiq [White] is already going there and they’re trying to get a few more players for 2025. I feel like they’re really building something there and if I were to go there I could be a part of that.”
Syracuse had already landed a trio of commitments in the Class of 2025 — with White, Luke Fennell and Aaron Womack — and now holds the No. 5 ranking for its class in the cycle, according to 247Sports.
Anthony, who has starred at Long Island Lutheran High School, is a four-star recruit ranked as the No. 36 overall recruit in the Class of 2025, the No. 6 shooting guard in the cycle and the top recruit in New York.
And the 6-foot-5, 185-pound instantly became a major piece of head coach Adrian Autry’s lineup next year.
