Kirby Smart sends a warning to the next LSU head coach

Georgia Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart had a warning for the next head coach at LSU.

Smart, who coached under Nick Saban at LSU and Alabama, sent a message to whomever becomes the next head coach in Baton Rouge that the job is only temporary and that they may not be there for long, especially if they don't win right away.

"I coached at LSU. A guy once told me, he said 'That office you're in. That's not your office. You're borrowing it.' I knew right then, if you didn't win, you wouldn't be there long."

Despite having some success at LSU, it wasn't enough for Brian Kelly. The school fired him late Sunday night after an embarrassing loss to No. 3 Texas A&M.

Fans at the game Saturday night were calling for Kelly's dismissal, and even the governor of the state got involved. Jeff Landry tweeted after the Bengal Tigers' loss, "I think

@LSUsports and the LSU Board of Supervisors needs to rethink their actions to raise ticket prices for next year after tonight’s showing!"

Another reason Kelly may have been let go is that he wasn't well-liked among fans or former players, several of whom already expressed their gladness that Kelly is gone.

Whomever decides to take the job at LSU may need to think twice before taking the position, because you may not only be dealing with disgruntled fans and alumni if you don't win, but also government officials in that state who may decide your fate if you don't win right away.
