Kim Zolciak addressed "reckless and deeply troubling" allegations against her 15-year-old son Kroy "KJ" Biermann Jr. after he was arrested on sodomy and aggravated sexual battery charges.

Kim Zolciak is defending her son Kroy "KJ" Biermann Jr. in the wake of his arrest.
KJ, 15, was taken into police custody on sodomy and aggravated sexual battery charges in Alpharetta, Georgia, on Aug. 17, according to court documents obtained by E! News.
The charges stem from an alleged incident that occurred in the changing room of a Lifetime Fitness gym on April 23, per a criminal warrant.
In response to KJ's arrest, Zolciak told E! in an Aug. 21 statement, "The allegations being made against my son are nothing short of reckless and deeply troubling. He categorically denies ever being involved with this woman or engaging in the conduct she has alleged."
The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum also claimed that KJ passed a voluntary polygraph exam and that no DNA evidence was found during an investigation into the alleged incident. (E! has reached out to the Alpharetta Police Department for comment but hasn't heard back.)
"False accusations can have devastating consequences not only for the person being accused, but also for genuine survivors of sexual assault and abuse," Zolciak, 48, continued. "Every legitimate allegation deserves to be taken seriously and investigated based on the facts and evidence. At the same time, no one should be publicly condemned based solely on an accusation."
She added, "We remain confident that the facts and evidence will establish the truth, and we ask that people allow the proper process to take its course rather than spreading unproven allegations."
KJ's attorney Jason Sheffield echoed Zolciak's sentiments, telling E! in a separate statement that KJ is "100 percent innocent."

"Had the officer sat down with me, I feel certain she would’ve never made an arrest," Sheffield said. "The fact that he’s been arrested and is being held without bond is a tragedy. He is not only presumed innocent, but is in fact, innocent."
"I will work tirelessly to demonstrate to the District Attorney's office the mean spirited nature of these false allegations and to bring a close to this matter as quickly as possible," he continued. "I’m asking the public not to presume the truth of these allegations and to give the families on both sides their space and privacy."
KJ is the oldest son of Zolciak's kids with ex Kroy Biermann. Zolciak and the former NFL player, who have been involved in a contentious divorce since 2023, also share Brielle Biermann, 29, Ariana Biermann, 24, Kash Biermann, 14, as well as 12-year-old twins Kaia Biermann and Kane Biermann.
