Former lightweight champion Islam Makhachev has joined the elite club of fighters to win UFC titles in two weight classes, securing the welterweight title with a dominant win over Jack Della Maddalena at UFC 322.
Sure enough, the 34-year-old, along with Daniel Cormier, couldn't resist having a little fun at Khabib Nurmagomedov's expense over the milestone, leaving fans in splits.
As dominant as 'The Eagle' was during his career, he has never competed outside the 155-pound division. And for long, 'DC' stood the only regular member of the American Kickboxing Academy (AKA) who had claimed championships in two weight classes, an achievement he never failed to flaunt while comparing laurels with 'The Eagle'.
Now that Nurmagomedov's friend and protege has reached the milestone, Cormier teamed up with him to playfully troll the legendary lightweight.

After the fight, 'DC' joined Makhachev with snacks, and the two joked about how even a simple cookie tastes better when one holds two belts, with Makhachev slipping in a sly jab at his mentor:
"Brother, not many people understand this."Cormier quickly chimed in:
"Me and this guy [Makhachev] understand this... For us, it tastes different than for you."Check out Islam Makhachev and Daniel Cormier troll Khabib Nurmagomedov below:
Suffice it to say, the hilarious moment garnered much fanfare with fans taking to social media to share their thoughts.

UFC 322 has shaken up the welterweight division, with Islam Makhachev's rise as champion and Michael Morales and Carlos Prates positioning themselves in the title conversation with explosive wins.
Former champion Kamaru Usman also wants a piece of Makhachev, and so does Shavkat Rakhmonov, the former No.1 contender who lost his shot at the gold due to an injury.
With the 170-pound death row eager to steal the title from him, Makhachev issued a daring message during the post-fight press conference:
"Everybody wants something. Yeah, this is the most competitive division right now - welterweight... A lot of young guys who fought today, next week, a couple of guys are going to fight — also Kamaru [Usman]. [Ilia] Topuria, all killers want to take my belt. No, no, no, I won't give... No injury, nothing. I don't feel any pain. I'm ready. Who is going to be next? Let's do this."Why did you not like this content?
