Kevin Durant makes bold claim about LeBron James' new 76ers superteam

Kevin Durant understands how strong the 2017 Golden State Warriors were. He won two NBA championships with them after joining a very talented team. However, Durant now believes that another team is better on paper since LeBron James joined the Philadelphia 76ers.

The controversy began after some fans compared James joining the Philadelphia 76ers to Durant signing with the Warriors in 2016. Durant pushed back, arguing that Philadelphia's top-end talent is stronger than the roster Golden State had during its championship run.

"It ain't close, lmao," Durant wrote. "Joel, MVP. Jaylen Brown, recent Finals MVP, Tyrese Maxey, All-Star the last 3 years. We ALL know what Bron does."

Durant then explained why he believes the comparison favors Philadelphia. Rather than pointing to championships or regular-season records, he compared the resumes of each team's biggest names.

"Klay Thompson never a MVP candidate in anything, 22 PPG. Draymond, 14 PPG, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. Steph an MVP just like Joel was. I don't get how the Warriors team is better on paper."

Durant focuses on individual achievements. Joel Embiid has won the NBA MVP award. Brown earned Finals MVP during Boston's championship run before joining Philadelphia. 

Tyrese Maxey has become a three-time All-Star, and James remains one of the most accomplished players in the league as he begins another season.

When Durant joined the Warriors, he played with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green, who were supported by one of the best groups of players in the NBA. 

This team had an impressive record of 67 wins and 15 losses. They won the NBA championship and only lost one game in the playoffs.

Durant pointed out that team success is different from individual talent. He suggests that the group of star players in Philadelphia has stronger backgrounds than other teams, even before they have played together. This adds to the ongoing discussion about which NBA superteam is the best.
