Kesha Reveals Special Meaning Behind Grammys Red Carpet Look

This time, Kesha is more than happy to keep it on.

In fact, the white, feathered Atelier Biser gown the "Take It Off" singer opted to wear to the 2026 Grammy Awards had an extra special meaning.

"I really wanted to look like Athena," Kesha explained to E! News' Zuri Hall on the red carpet. "Been really inspired by Athena recently. And I wanted to give freedom, because this is my first Grammy weekend as a free woman, owning the rights to my voice—a record label head. And I just really wanted my outside to match my insides."

After all, with the establishment of her label Kesha Records in 2024, all the music the 38-year-old releases belongs fully, entirely to her.

And the dramatic, off-the-shoulder dress—brought to life by stylist Wilford Lenov—proves Kesha is a force to be reckoned with. (See every dramatic red carpet look here.

But being the sole owner of her music isn't the only thing the "TiK ToK" singer is celebrating these days: She also just helped honor Mariah Carey at the MusiCares gala on Jan. 30.

"Mariah Carey is such an icon, we can all agree on that," Kesha said. "And she has been through like some things in the music business, and has dealt with it so gracefully, and is a huge inspiration to me as a woman in music."

So, "to be able to be there and sing for her was, of course, intimidating," she added, "because she was one of the best voices in the entire planet, yes, but I just wanted to show my love for her in the way that I could."

But the icing on top? "And then she followed me on Instagram," Kesha revealed. "Which is like, huge."

Plus, Kesha's song "Dear Me," written for Diane Warren's documentary Diane Warren: Relentless, earned a Best Original Song nomination at the Oscars

"Diane is one of the most iconic songwriters in the world, and she asked me to sing a song for her documentary that she wrote about herself," Kesha explained, "and the song really spoke to me. It's about writing a note to yourself when you were younger, going through hard times and telling yourself like, 'One day it's gonna be okay.'"

Something that feels "really appropriate" for Kesha, now, to be "a free woman at the Grammys talking" about that song.

"I wish I could write a note to my younger self," she added, "and I'd say, It's gonna be okay.'"
