There is a clear favorite in the Kentucky Derby field.
Journalism, trained by Michael W. McCarthy, has the best odds (3-1) after winning four consecutive starts before making the trip to Churchill Downs. Sovereignty (5-1) and Sandman (6-1) will look to challenge Journalism at this year's Derby, which is scheduled to be run on Saturday.
Of course, part of what makes "The Run for the Roses" so thrilling is the possibility of a shocking result. Three years ago, Rich Strike (80-1) became the second-biggest longshot to win the race, and Country House pulled off a stunning victory (65-1) in 2019.
