Kenny Smith is no stranger to headlines during his two decades on television but this week's news had nothing to do with basketball. The longtime Houston Rockets champion turned "Inside the NBA" analyst shared a personal milestone that quickly spread across social media.
Smith, known to fans as "The Jet," confirmed he had gotten married, closing a chapter of his life that had been mostly private up until the announcement.
Kenny Smith marries longtime partner in a private ceremony
Kenny Smith and Croatian influencer Tia Jurcic were married at The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Coast California over the weekend. The ceremony was held outdoors, with white and pink roses arranged beneath a chandelier suspended from a fabric-draped structure.
The two had kept much of their relationship private since meeting at a basketball event in Abu Dhabi where Jurcic's son introduced himself in English before the pair connected.
The couple confirmed the news through a joint Instagram post captioned "Mr. & Mrs. Smith."
Jurcic wore a strapless gown with a full floral skirt and matching veil, while Smith wore a white tuxedo jacket with black pants and a bow tie. Details of the ceremony and the venue were first reported by NY Post, which also confirmed this marks Smith's third marriage.
Jurcic, the stepdaughter of Croatian economist Ljubo Jurcic, also has a son from a previous relationship with former basketball player Chris Warren.
Kenny Smith had been married twice before
Before marrying Tia Jurcic, Kenny Smith had been married twice. His first marriage was to Dawn Reavis, whom he met while attending the University of North Carolina. The couple married in 1990 and spent more than a decade together before separating. They have two children together.
Smith later found love with model and television personality Gwendolyn Osborne. The two married in 2006 after meeting at a charity event and went on to build a family, welcoming two children during their marriage. They also appeared together on the reality series Meet the Smiths which offered fans a glimpse into their home life.
After more than a decade together, Osborne filed for divorce in 2018, bringing Smith's second marriage to an end. Following the split, the former NBA star kept his personal life largely out of the public eye and rarely spoke about his relationships.
That changed when Smith began dating Tia Jurcic. After keeping their relationship mostly private for around two years, the couple announced their engagement in 2025 before officially tying the knot this week.
Smith remains a fixture alongside Ernie Johnson, Charles Barkley and Shaquille O'Neal as the group's Emmy-winning show continues under its new network home. For now, Smith and Jurcic are keeping the rest of their wedding weekend private.
