Kayla Nicole is taking a social media break.

The fitness influencer has deactivated her X account (formerly known as Twitter) following backlash and resurfaced posts. For Halloween, Kayla Nicole dressed up as R&B singer Toni Braxton and recreated her 2000 music video for "He Wasn't Man Enough."

“Did you know about us back then? / Do you know I dumped your husband, girlfriend?” Kayla Nicole lip-synched. “I’m not thinking ’bout him / But you married him / Do you know I made him leave? / Do you know he begged to stay with me? / He wasn’t man enough for me.”

Fans believed that the singer was throwing shade at her ex-boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce. The NFL star and Kayla Nicole dated on and off from 2017 to 2022. He is now engaged to Taylor Swift, whom he began dating in 2023.

Kayla Nicole explained the reason behind her costume on her podcast, The Pre-Game, and the origin of the costume was a reference to a childhood friend named Taylor and not her former romance with the three-time Super Bowl champion or his fiancée.

“I had a white best friend. Her name was Taylor,” Kayla Nicole said.  “And she [was] the only house I could go over to as a kid because my mom didn’t play them type of games.”

"Her mom was playing this song, playing at the top of her lungs," Kayla explained. "It was just like an ah-hah moment that, 'Wow, white people listen to Black people music as well.'"

Kayla Nicole's Halloween post follows lyrics from Swift's "Opalite," where fans suggested that the singer referenced a video from the influencer and NFL player's former romance, where they were arguing about Kayla Nicole being on her phone.

"You couldn't understand it/Why you felt alone/You were in it for real/She was in her phone/And you were just a pose," Swift sings on "Opalite" from The Life of a Showgirl.

In addition to the Kelce and Swift backlash from fans on social media, alleged homophobic and racist language was resurfaced from the media personality's account, according to screenshots from The Daily Mail. However, Kayla Nicole's Instagram account is still active at the time of this writing.
