Kanye West Raps Wife Bianca Censori Tried to Have Him Hospitalized

Kanye—who shares kids North, 11, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 5 with ex Kim Kardashian—was previously hospitalized for a “psychiatric emergency” related to exhaustion in 2016, his rep told the New York Times at the time. Shortly after, he canceled the remainder of his Life of Pablo tour. 

And in 2020, Kim—who separated from Kanye a year later—addressed being in a relationship with Kanye amid his mental health struggles. 

“As many of you know, Kanye has bipolar disorder,” Kim wrote in an Instagram post. “Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does, knows how incredibly complicated and painful it is to understand.” 

She continued to reflect on the difficult position she was in as Kanye’s then-wife. 

“Those that understand mental illness or even compulsive behaviour know that the family is powerless unless the member is a minor,” she wrote. “People who are unaware or far removed from this experience can be judgemental and not understand that the individual themselves have to engage in the process of getting help no matter how hard family and friends try.”

While Kanye himself had opened up on his bipolar diagnosis on his 2018 album Ye, he recently alleged he was misdiagnosed. 

“I went to this doctor,” he said on The Download podcast’s Feb. 4 episode. “My wife took me to do that because she said, ‘Something about your personality doesn’t feel like it’s bipolar, I’ve seen bipolar before.’ And I’ve come to find that it’s really a case of autism that I have.”

When it comes to where the couple stands now, Kanye has fueled breakup speculation with Bianca by wiping her from his social media accounts as well as unfollowing her in addition to the lyrics from the unreleased track. Breakup speculation also loomed in February after the couple’s controversial appearance at the Grammys, though their rep later shut it down.

"Announcements about their private life will come from them directly, not unsourced rumor in the tabloid press,” the rep said in a statement to E! News at the time. “Is this the fifth or is it the sixth time the press has wrongly reported that Ye and Bianca are separating? I've lost track.”
