Justin Fields has been ruled out for the Jets’ game Sunday after sustaining a concussion during their Week 2 loss, head coach Aaron Glenn said before practice Wednesday.

Tyrod Taylor will start for Gang Green against the Buccaneers.

Fields is currently in the league’s concussion protocol, and Glenn said Monday that “it’s always a hard one to really evaluate” while expressing his belief in the need for practice reps before returning.

Fields exited Sunday’s game early after completing just 3 of 11 passes for 27 yards and taking a step back from an impressive Jets debut.

Now, with Gang Green trying to avoid a 0-3 start, Taylor will be tasked with making his first start since 2023 — when he started five games for the Giants.

He has started 58 regular-season games across his 15-year career.
