Julian Sayin put out another outstanding performance for Ohio State (8-0, 5-0 Big Ten) when it welcomed rival Penn State (3-5, 0-5 Big Ten) to the Ohio Stadium on Saturday. The quarterback led the Buckeyes to a 38-14 victory over the Nittany Lions to stay undefeated in 2025.

Sayin completed 20 of 23 passes for 316 yards and four touchdowns to lead his team to the dominant win. The eye-catching performance immediately elevated him to the favorite for the Heisman Trophy, ahead of other top contenders like Fernando Mendoza and Ty Simpson.

Julian Sayin entered Week 10 with +400 odds to win the Heisman Trophy, behind Mendoza (+200) and Simpson (+380). However, after the strong showing against the Nittany Lions on Saturday, the Ohio State quarterback is leading the race for the coveted award with +180 odds.

Sayin has garnered a significant amount of attention this season with his performance for the Buckeyes. He's been a capable replacement for Will Howard, who led the program to the national championship last season. Nick Saban hilariously chided himself on College GameDay for how he handled the quarterback at Alabama.

“I think one point I’d like to make about Julian Sayin is he was at Alabama and the coach at Alabama played him on the scout team for a whole year,” Saban said. “What a dumbass.”

Julian Sayin’s accuracy to offer him an edge in the Heisman Trophy race

Julian Sayin has been insanely accurate with his passes this season. The Penn State encounter was the fifth game this season in which the Ohio State quarterback has completed more than 80% of his passes while throwing multiple touchdowns.

Without a doubt, this is bound to give him an edge in the Heisman Trophy race. Nick Saban spoke highly of his elite accuracy on College GameDay on Saturday.

“Julian Sayin is actually 80 percent completion percentage, leads the nation,” Saban said. “This guy is very accurate. He can make all the throws. He has great judgement. He’s got really good receivers to throw the ball to. “Sometimes the receivers make the quarterback good. Sometimes the quarterback makes the receivers look good. These guys make each other look good.”

This season, Sayin has thrown for 1,872 yards and 19 touchdowns with just three interceptions, leading the nation with an 80% pass completion rate. He's leading the charge to ensure Ohio State retains the national championship, and this time in a more fascinating fashion.
