The Kansas City Chiefs have been without the services of their starting left tackle for four games in a row as Josh Simmons was tending to a personal family matter.
However, it appears Simmons is back.
According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Simmons is back with the team after missing the last four games, which puts him on track to play next week when the Chiefs return from their bye.
"Sources: Chiefs rookie LT Josh Simmons has returned to the team facility after missing the last four games to tend to a personal family matter," Schultz wrote.
As far as what Simmons has been going through exactly, we can't say, as the Chiefs have been tight-lipped about his issue, which is, of course, the right thing to do.
A first-round pick of the Chiefs in April, Simmons earned a starting job out of camp and appeared in the first five games of the season.
He gave up just one sack and 12 pressures in that span and posted Pro Football Focus grades of 71.2 in pass-blocking and 55.0 in run-blocking.
In Simmons' absence, Jaylon Moore got the nod at left tackle, although he wasn't as crisp as Simmons, with Moore surrendering three sacks and 12 pressures in the last four games.
