Jose Mourinho-led Fenerbahce are desperately seeking to strengthen their roster ahead of the new season. They are keen to contend for the league title with champions and arch rivals Galatasaray.
Therefore, both Turkish heavyweights are investing in the summer transfer window, signing some talented players.
Recent updates via Fanatik suggest Mourinho's interest in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Asensio.
The Spain international has a contract with PSG until 2026, but could well be on his way to Istanbul this summer.
The attacking midfielder failed to establish himself with coach Luis Enrique, and so he was loaned out to Aston Villa in the Premier League.
He had an excellent brief stint with the Villans as he netted six goals and provided an assist in 21 games. But Villa's hands were tied due to PSR regulations, and so they couldn't sign the 29-year-old permanently.

According to reports, Mourinho is all set to meet Asensio in a few days to convince him to move to Turkey.
The Spanish attacking midfielder has previously worked with Mourinho during their time at Real Madrid, and that connection could work in the Portuguese tactician's favour.
Where could Asensio end up this summer?
Considering PSG's current roster and form, it is tough for Asensio to establish himself at PSG after returning from Villa. So the 29-year-old in all likelihood is on his way out of Parc des Princes.

The Spaniard will look to get regular gametime with the World Cup happening next year. So, Fenerbahce could be a possible destination for Asensio.
Earlier, Mourinho pushed for Paul Pogba, but the Frenchman joined AS Monaco. So, as an alternative, Fenerbahce could bring Asensio to counter Galatasaray, who have signed Leroy Sane on a free transfer from Bayern Munich.
PSG are already a stacked team, and offloading Asensio will free up funds, which they can use in other departments of need in this summer transfer window.
