Jonathan Bailey Teases What to Expect in ‘Wicked: For Good’
Say hello to the newest talk of the ton.
Jonathan Bailey was revealed as People’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2025 on the Nov. 3 episode of the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
“It's the honor of a lifetime,” the Bridgerton star told Jimmy—who himself was the magazine’s Sexiest Game Show Host this year—during the episode, before quipping, "Jimmy, thank you so much for turning it down so that I could be here."
And while Jonathan told Jimmy that he unsuccessfully tried to leak the news to friends before the announcement—"They were like, "Yeah, yeah, yeah. Do your affirmations."—the Wicked: For Good star can hardly blame them. After all, he's still wrapping his head around the title.
"Obviously, I’m incredibly flattered," he told People after they bestowed the honor. "And it's completely absurd."
As for whether he thinks friends and family will start treating him differently, Jonathan joked to Jimmy, "I f--king hope so!"
As the new Sexiest Man Alive, the 37-year-old officially dethroned 2024’s winner John Krasinski, who was shocked that he’d earned the title.
“Just immediate blackout, actually. Zero thoughts,” the 46-year-old shared with People in 2024. “Other than maybe I'm being punked.”
As the Office star joked, “That's not how I wake up, thinking, ‘Is this the day that I'll be asked to be Sexiest Man Alive?’ And yet it was the day you guys did it. You guys have really raised the bar for me.”

And it wasn’t just John who was thrilled with the honor, as his wife Emily Blunt—with whom he shares daughters Hazel, 11, and Violet, 9—was “very excited” about the news, quipping that she planned to wallpaper their Brooklyn home with his magazine cover.
"Do we have that on camera? Because that’s like a binding contract, I think," John quipped. "My children will love that, it won’t be weird at all."

But it wasn't just about one sexy man this year, as People also revealed the winners of their 2025 Readers’ Choice Poll.
Dancing With the Stars had a big year as judge Derek Hough was named Sexiest 40-Year-Old, while current contestant Dylan Efron picked up the award for Sexiest Tattoos.
This year’s Sexiest New Dad in Sports went to 49ers running back—and Olivia Culpo’s husband of one year—Christian McCaffrey, who welcomed daughter Colette with the model in July. And who did readers crown as their Sexiest New Heartthrob? Regretting You star Mason Thames.
