John Harbaugh, Joe Schoen have decisions to make on returns of two former Giants

The New York Giants had a great rookie season from quarterback Jaxson Dart and then hired John Harbaugh to be the team's next coach this offseason. Suddenly, the team is one that players want to play for, including former players.

Several headlines have been made over the last week regarding wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. coming back to the team he went to three Pro Bowls with after being named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2014. Reports indicate that Harbaugh and Beckham, who were together in Baltimore in 2023, have discussed a potential return.

Beckham is now 33 years old and was out of football last season. With 575 career receptions, he wants to show what he still has in the tank.

But Beckham is not the only former Giants player seeking a return to the team. Jason Pierre-Paul, one of the best pass-rushers in team history, wants to finish his career where it started.

Veteran DE Jason Pierre-Paul, the #Giants’ first-round pick in 2010, wants the team to bring him back.

Pierre-Paul, a first-round pick in 2010, spent eight seasons with the Giants. He was added to the practice squad of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last December after two full years out of football. He was called up to the active roster for three games.

Could Giants reunite with either Odell Beckham or Jason Pierre-Paul?

Whether or not either of these players returns to New York likely comes down to positional need.

Despite signing Darnell Mooney and Calvin Austin III in free agency, the Giants could use more depth at wide receiver and Beckham could provide a solid mentor to Malik Nabers, who is coming off a torn ACL, something Beckham has experience with.

Pierre-Paul ranks 10th on the team's all-time sacks list with 58.5, but he is 37 years old now and the Giants aren't hurting for pass-rushers, it's actually among the team's top strengths entering the 2026 season. The Giants could give him a look, but it seems unlikely that they will.
