John Daly called himself a “jackass” after falling and bellyflopping down a hill at the Cologuard Classic in Tucson, Arizona, on Sunday.
The two-time major champion — who appeared to evade a serious injury — poked fun at himself in an Instagram post, which included a video of the moment at La Paloma Country Club.
“Bellyfloppin’ in the desert 🌵 🏜️ 🏌️♂️ true buddy sliding in to save—> @joelcooleymusic,” Daly captioned his post, referring to his caddie, Joel Cooley, who was seen hurrying down the hill to help rescue him.
“On today’s episode of jacka**,” the 59-year-old Daly wrote over the clip.
Daly was visibly off-balance while attempting a shot near the green.
After hitting the ball, he slid down the hill on his stomach and was no longer in sight in the video.
“Now you see… me now you don’t… wait for it,” he added in an Instagram Story with the hashtag “skillz.”
