The Philadelphia 76ers have now been eliminated from the NBA Playoffs. Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns proved to be a lethal duo while Deuce McBride made three-pointers rain to seal their fate. After the 144-114 loss, a lot of woes started to surface for Joel Embiid again and one fact remains for the former Most Valuable Player.

Embiid stays as outlier in wrong side of NBA Playoffs history

Joel Embiid remains to be the only MVP to have never been in the Eastern Conference Finals. He is now 32 years old which means that a lot of the fears of the 76ers' fans are starting to become very real. It also becomes increasingly harder for them to reach penultimate round before the NBA Finals because the former MVP is now exiting his prime while his contract valuation remains to be one of the highest in the league.

In Game 4 against the Knicks, Embiid was doing a lot to keep the 76ers alive in the NBA Playoffs. He only played 28 minutes before waving the white flag. Still, the big man led the 76ers in scoring with 24 points as he went 100% from the field and three-point range. His only miss was a one free throw out of his seven attempts. Embiid also grabbed five rebounds while dropping four assists.

This NBA Playoffs run will not go in vain. Embiid finally beat the Boston Celtics in a postseason run for the first time in his career. Adding the fact that he also led the 76ers to a 3-1 comeback made all of their efforts special. But, the fact that he remains to be the sole MVP winner to have never reached the Conference Finals means that there are some big adjustments in schemes, rotation, personnel, and composition which loom over the 76ers.
