Zach Calzada's decision to flash $100 bills in response to an online troll has rubbed people the wrong way. One of those people displeased with the move is Joe Burrow's former teammate at LSU, Breiden Fehoko.
Fehoko wrote on X (formerly Twitter),
"NIL era gonna get these boys robbed. My goodness. They never learn man. You about to be someone’s meal ticket dawg all for what?"•

Breiden Fehoko won a national championship in 2020 as part of the Joe Burrow-led LSU Tigers. He later spent some time in the NFL with the Los Angeles Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Fehoko believes that Zach Calzada's act has the potential to attract the attention of unscrupulous individuals. He directly blames the NIL boom and questions the rationale of flexing online, thus potentially becoming a target.
The NIL era has seen college football players get paid for their services and excellence on the gridiron. However, isolated incidents like Calzada's show that there needs to be better regulations to protect collegiate football players from the potential notoriety it could bring.
Zach Calzada apologized for the money flexing video
Zach Calzada has expressed remorse over the viral video that garnered him significant criticism on X (formerly Twitter). The graduate quarterback has taken responsibility for the act.
According to a Kentucky spokesman,
"Zach has taken responsibility for his actions. He has done the right thing and apologized. Now, it's time to move forward."This is the shot caller's first season with the Kentucky Wildcats. He spent the first six seasons of his collegiate football career at Texas A&M, Auburn, and Incarnate Word.
Calzada started the season as Kentucky's QB1. However, he put up an iffy stat line of 234 passing yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception in two games. He suffered an injury against the Ole Miss Rebels and hasn't started ever since.
In his place, Cutter Boley has featured in six games, throwing for 1,376 yards, 10 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. It's highly unlikely that Calzada will wrestle back the starting quarterback gig.
The Wildcats are 3-5 to start the season. They need three more wins to secure bowl game eligibility. But first, they'll need to overcome a Bill Napier-less Florida Gators in Week 11.
