Lakers coach JJ Redick isn't quite popular among the team's fan base amid a three-game losing streak. LA has obvious issues defensively, but has yet to address them by making significant starting lineup changes. One such problem is $51 million forward Rui Hachimura starting alongside LeBron James in the frontcourt.
Defensively, the duo excels in the same position, which is also true for Luka Doncic. They are all successful at guarding power forwards, but struggle heavily against stopping guards.
On Sunday, before the matchup against the Kings at home, Redick said he had planned to try something different with the lineups. As things stand, that meant tweaks to in-game rotation and combinations as the starting lineup has remained the same, with Hachimura continuing to start.

Lakers fans were infuriated with JJ Redick's decision. They even compared him to former coach Darvin Ham, who was seemingly stubborn with his choices in the 2023-24 season, repeatedly starting Taurean Prince despite the now Bucks forward not being a good fit with the starters.
