Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James had three highlight dunks for himself against the Washington Wizards on Friday night. It was one of the best athletic displays of the year, which is even more impressive due to his age.
That performance has led to people getting excited for the Dunk Contest to be held during All-Star Weekend. Even JJ Redick entered the conversation, joking that the NBA invited James to the competition like Lakers big man Jaxson Hayes.
Redick is having fun with James' dunk-fest
Friday was a big night for the Lakers, as they had a blockbuster blowout against the Wizards, 142-111. Luka Doncic was the primary story after the first half, as he already had a triple-double after the first two quarters.
However, James had something to say as well with his trio of highlight dunks. The alley-oop with the left hand from Deandre Ayton's pass was impressive, but he also followed that up with more dunks, including the one against Alex Sarr.

James' son, Bronny, also had a highlight dunk of his own. It was such a strong performance from the Lakers, which led to many highlight plays. That was enough for coach Redick to also have fun.
"The early rumors are that the league is gonna try to get him to the dunk contest this year. There's some juice left in those legs, apparently. The great left bionic leg," Redick said after beating the Wizards.
Moving forward, James will continue to prove that he is an ageless wonder. He might not be as productive as he has been in years past, but he is still one of the best players in the league.
Doncic is the Lakers' primary option, but James will never be counted out due to his impactful play. He might be over 40, but he will continue to be a threat to any opponent the Lakers face.
