The Los Angeles Lakers have been in shaky form in recent weeks, but they have won two games in a row on a back-to-back. They were both impressive victories, as they blew out the Golden State Warriors and the Sacramento Kings.
Luka Doncic has been at the center of it all with his performances. Lakers head coach JJ Redick has been impressed with what he is seeing from his star guard, who continues to pull off some amazing plays that have baffled many basketball fans and even his own coaching staff.
Redick continues to be impressed by Doncic's daring attitude
During his playing career at Duke University, Redick was one of the most dangerous players in college basketball. Most people expected him to have strong performances almost every game, which made him a favorite of legendary Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski.
Redick now has two seasons under his belt as the head coach, and his biggest star is Doncic. Like Coach K, Redick has built a solid dynamic with his star player. At the same time, Redick has seen the quality that separates Doncic from the rest.

Redick is enamored with the talent he has with Doncic. It is a big deal for the Lakers because they have a star to build around. They always know that there is a star they can rely on for years to come with the Slovenian superstar.
"Coach K used to always use the word daring. There's a daring in Luka's game. One of the many reasons that makes him such a special player. He had a stretch there in the third quarter when we really struggled to get a cohesive offense," Redick said after the Lakers' blowout win over the Kings.
"I thought that stretch for him, he made a bunch of amazing plays. We got our pace back, we split the blitz, we scored at the rim... The one pass he threw to Rui, which Rui air-balled, just anticipation."
As long as Doncic remains the Lakers' star, they will always be competitive. The 2025-26 season is still a potentially successful one with him and LeBron James. Redick is there to guide them to the promised land, but it will continue to be a competitive landscape they have to navigate through.
