However, not all the comments were Ohio State-focused.

A common theme in the post-game celebrations was the banter towards Penn State Nittany Lions defensive coordinator Jim Knowles. Knowles was Ohio State's DC from 2022 to 2024.

However, the veteran defensive coordinator left the Buckeyes shortly after their national championship win. He wasn't on the job market for long as he snagged the vacant Penn State defensive coordinator job.

Knowles lost his first test against his old side. The Buckeyes scored in a variety of ways, and the final result was a testament to the significant quality difference.

Ohio State and Penn State have contrasting targets for the rest of the season

The Ohio State Buckeyes recorded their eighth win of the season with the victory over the Penn State Nittany Lions. The Buckeyes are the No. 1-ranked team in the nation, and they showed it against the Nittany Lions.
