It's quite the opportunity for a rookie.
The New York Jets' tight end room is awful, save for the new guy.
The new guy is second-round pick Mason Taylor, out of LSU. He's the son of NFL Hall of Famer Jason Taylor.
"Talk about great opportunities, as the second-round pick from LSU steps into perhaps the most underwhelming tight end room in the league," ESPN's Rich Cimini writes. "Taylor, who is the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Jason Taylor, should get significant playing time, but can he be an immediate factor in the passing game?"

The Jets could certainly use a tight end presence to help new quarterback Justin Fields.
Taylor is going to have to prove early on he can be that guy.
He's got a great long-term future, and that might wind up being with a QB other than Fields. But right now, Taylor's job is to help Fields look good and stick around in a tough AFC East. He's certainly got the genes to do it.
