Jets make shocking Garrett Wilson decision amidst two-game winning-streak

1 hour ago 1

The New York Jets have surprisingly won their last two games. They got their first win in a 39-38 shootout win over the Cincinnati Bengals. After their bye, they picked up another win over a second AFC North team, defeating the Cleveland Browns 27-20.

New York will face the Patriots in New England on Thursday night, but ahead of the AFC East matchup, the Jets have made a notable decision concerning wide receiver Garrett Wilson. Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Jets are putting Wilson on IR.

"Jets placed WR Garrett Wilson on injured reserve, and he now will be out a minimum of four games," Schefter reports.

If there is any silver lining for the Jets, they didn't need Wilson to defeat the Cleveland Browns, as he finished the game without a catch. Wilson didn't play at all in the game against the Bengals, and New York still found a way to win.

It's less than ideal for their passing game, but the Jets' ground game is coming off a big showing against the Browns. If they are able to successfully run the ball and control the clock, they'll be able to keep games close.
