Jets lock up Joe Tippmann on ‘big’ four-year contract extension

The Jets are locking up a cornerstone piece of their offensive line.

Guard Joe Tippmann and the Jets agreed on a four-year contract extension, ESPN.com reported on Monday.

The contract is reportedly “big” for Tippmann, who graded out as the league’s 37th-best offensive lineman according to Pro Football Focus.

The Jets previously locked star running back Breece Hall up on a $45 million deal.

It comes after general manager Darren Mougey offloaded Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams in exchange for highly coveted draft capital at the deadline as he reshapes the roster ahead of head coach’s Aaron Glenn second season.
