The New York Jets traveled overseas to face the Denver Broncos in London for a Week 6 matchup to try and go 1-5 on the year. But, after a 13-11 loss, the Jets are now 0-6 and in dire straits.
While the Broncos are one of the best defensive units in the NFL this year, the Jets' offense was not able to get much of anything going. They did manage to gain some yardage on the ground, but through the air, it went terribly for Justin Fields and the Jets.
It was such a terrible day that, according to ESPN Insights, the Jets' passing yardage, a total net of -10, was the worst by any team in the last 27 years, and the worst performance by a Jets team in franchise history.
Justin Fields had the worst passing performance in Jets history
"The Jets' -10 net Pass YDS is the worst in a game in Jets history," ESPN Insights shared, "And the worst by any team in 27 years."

— ESPN Insights (@ESPNInsights) October 12, 2025What makes this such an incredible statistic is that the Jets could've won this game as well. Their defense and special teams were great all game long, and while the passing offense was terrible, they had a chance to win at the end of the game.
Fields, the architect of this historical performance, was 9/17 through the air for 45 passing yards. The big net loss of yards comes from the nine sacks he took, which resulted in 55 yards lost.
By the end of the game, the Jets' passing offense averages negative yards per play. Their -10 yards on passing downs was the worst mark this century, and the worst mark in Jets history.

During the COVID-19-impacted 2020 NFL season, the Broncos had to start Kendall Hinton against the New Orleans Saints. Hinton was a wide receiver. And yet, that Broncos passing offense managed 12 passing yards.
Fields and the Jets' passing offense performed worse than Hinton, a wide receiver playing emergency quarterback. It's a brutal reference point for the Jets, as the passing offense was not just bad, but the worst in Jets history and the worst of the last 27 years.
Aaron Glenn and the Jets might need to reevaluate the starting quarterback job, but for now, Glenn is sticking with Fields despite the quarterback having the worst passing performance of any quarterback of the 21st century.
