The New York Jets are coming off a heartbreaking loss to the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 8, and now they sit at 2-6. This Jets team is going to be a seller rather than a buyer, but how far will they go is the real question.

While there are some names to monitor, like Nahshon Wright, the most captivating trade candidate on this team is running back Breece Hall. With Braelon Allen breaking out recently, Hall has emerged as a realistic trade candidate this season.

But how do the Jets see those Hall trade rumors? ESPN's Rich Cimini shared a comment from head coach Aaron Glenn, who shut down the trade rumors by defending Hall's role on the team, even with Allen's dominance this year.

Jets HC shuts down Breece Hall trade rumors amid Braelon Allen's breakout

"Guys, listen, Breece is still a part of this team," Glenn said. "I understand how the noise happens when things like this happen. I've said it before, we're in the business of keeping good players and he's one of our better players. So Breece will still be here."

This quote from Glenn makes it clear that the Jets don't plan to trade their star running back this season. Regardless of how well Allen has played -- and he's been truly great since taking over while Hall is hurt -- the Jets aren't planning a blockbuster trade right now.

With how many teams are showing interest in Jonathan Taylor, the Indianapolis Colts' star running back, it would stand to reason the Jets could get a haul for Hall if they traded him.

Hall should be back in action for the Jets in Week 9, that is if he's not traded. But, based on Glenn's comments, it seems more likely than not that Hall will remain in New York for the rest of the year.

There might be more rumors coming out leading up to deadline day, especially if one of the Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos, Minnesota Vikings, New York Giants, or some other RB-needy team that misses out on Taylor makes a push for Hall.

But at the end of the day, this comment from Glenn points to the Jets deciding to keep Hall, despite the rumors picking up steam with how well Allen has played.

Glenn is shutting down these trade rumors surrounding Hall, but until the trade deadline passes, Jets fans shouldn't completely write a trade off, as some team might make an offer that's impossible to refuse in the next week.
