The New York Jets dropped to 2-8 on Thursday night after a tough loss to the division rival New England Patriots.
Second-year quarterback Drake Maye diced up an undermanned Jets defense, throwing for 281 yards and one touchdown en route to New England's eighth-straight victory.
The Jets' secondary had a rough night to say the least, and cornerback Jarvis Brownlee Jr. took accountability for his play in an expletive-filled rant about his own performance.
Jarvis Brownlee Jr. calls himself out in NSFW rant
"I had three penalties...I gotta control what I can control. I feel like I played a [expletive] game. I gotta step up to the plate," Brownlee said from the visiting locker room at Gillette Stadium.
"To me, if you got three penalties as a defensive back, that's [expletive] terrible. So for me, I gotta get (back) to the drawing board, and get back in the building and...just work, man. Keep stacking those days."
Brownlee wasn't the only culprit on the Jets' defense Thursday night, but it's always nice to see a player take accountability for his play.
The former Tennessee Titans defender's rough night began when he pile-drove Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs early in the first quarter, earning himself a personal foul and a free first down for New England.
It didn't get much better from there.
The Patriots' pass catchers feasted on a banged-up New York secondary, with Diggs, Mack Hollins, and Hunter Henry combining for a total of 214 receiving yards.
New England's offense imposed its will on the Jets' defense, and it's something head coach Aaron Glenn will have to address when these two teams face each other again in Week 17.
