Jets' biggest move was the one they didn't make

The New York Jets have finalized their 53-man roster, and there's one interesting thing about this team that stands out.

It's actually the move Aaron Glenn and the Jets didn't make.

While some teams released their 53-man roster with four quarterbacks, the Jets didn't even include three. They have two. That's something that was pretty unexpected.

Jets didn't carry a third quarterback in initial roster

On Monday, ESPN released its tally of the biggest roster moves for each NFL team. For the Jets, it's not having a third quarterback.

"Things could change, but for now, they're riding with Geno Smith and rookie Cade Klubnik, whose preseason was spotty," Rich Cimini of ESPN states.

As for other moves, he notes that "inconsistent kicker Jason Sanders survived cut-down day, but that situation is fluid." Also, "the Jets addressed their depth on the offensive line, acquiring veteran G/C Jordan Meredith in a trade with the Raiders."

So, Cimini adds that Meredith is now the team's main backup at center and guard. "The Raiders allowed the most sacks in the NFL, and now the Jets have two of their linemen -- Meredith and LG Dylan Parham -- and also Smith. Interesting," he adds.

So, there are quite a few things different about this year's roster, but the one that stands out the most is certainly at quarterback. It's a make-or-break year for Smith, and if he can't get the job done, it's fair to say that the Jets are going to need more than just Klubnik behind him.
