Jerome Bettis thinks the Rams are going to be good this season.

But if they ultimately add Aaron Donald, he knows they’re going to be a problem for the entire NFL.

The Hall of Fame running back told the California Post while at the Harold & Carole Pump Foundation 26th Anniversary Celebrity Dinner on Thursday that if Donald does indeed return to Los Angeles to team up with Myles Garrett this year, the Rams’ defense is going to be “spectacular.”

“It makes them dynamic,” Bettis said, “because Aaron Donald was a one-man wrecking crew and now it becomes a two-man wrecking crew.”

Donald has been flirting with the idea of coming out of retirement since LA traded Jared Verse and a haul of draft picks for Garrett in June.

He’s been working out tirelessly and has been in touch with Rams head coach Sean McVay seemingly daily.

And while no decision has been made by Donald just yet, Bettis said when he reads his tea leaves, he’s pretty sure the comeback will happen.

“All the indications tell you what you want to know,” the former Rams and Steelers star said. “He’s out there, he’s getting himself in shape. So I would expect to see him probably not sooner than later, but probably at some point later in the year.”

Donald, 35, last played in the NFL during the 2023 season. In his 10-year career with the Rams, he piled up 111 sacks, made the Pro Bowl 10 times and earned Defensive Player of the Year honors on three separate occasions.
