Off Campus' Ella Bright Addresses 10-Year Age-Gap With Costar Belmont Cameli
Warning: This article contains minor spoilers for Off Campus season one.
Jennifer Lopez is getting loud about her love for Off Campus.
After all, the singer couldn't help but share how thrilled she was that the new Prime Video series featured her and Pitbull's song "On The Floor" during the now-viral dance scene between Allie Hayes (Mika Abdalla) and Dean Di Laurentis (Stephen Kalyn).
"The show is so cute," Jennifer told Variety during the Off Romance world premiere in Los Angeles, May 26. "I love it. They happened to use my song and it re-entered the charts after 15 years. When does that ever happen? The music business is so different now."
The 56-year-old was so enamored with the hockey romance based on Elle Kennedy's book series of the same name that she recruited Mika to recreate the scene for a video.
She added, "We decided to do this TikTok together and that went viral. It was really fun."
Pitbull (real name Armando Pérez) and Jennifer's song is central to Allie and Dean's romance—which creator Louisa Levy revealed will be the main storyline for season two—with the Briar University students meeting at a Halloween party.
In the scene, Dean asks Beau Maxwell (Khobe Clarke) who the girl is wearing a replica of Jennifer's iconic green Versace dress, prompting his friend to unhelpfully reply, "I don't know her personally but I'm pretty sure that's JLo."
Fellow hockey player John Tucker (Jalen Thomas Brooks) then has the idea to play "On the Floor." As Allie gushes over the track change, Dean—dressed as Tom Cruise's Top Gun character Maverick—teases to Tuck, "Who says you're struggling with assists?"

Although Dean initially has his hands tight on her hips, Allie—the best friend of Hannah Wells (Ella Bright)—was still in a relationship with on-and-off boyfriend Sean McCall (Riley Davis), making it clear that their dance is strictly hands-free.
That didn't stop the pair from heating up the dance floor, however, before Allie—whose love story with Dean is the main plot of the third book in the series, The Score—left him flustered at the house party.
While viewers got a taste of Allie and Dean's dynamic in season one, Mika is ready to delve deeper into their story.
Liane Hentscher/Prime
"I'm just really looking forward to digging deeper into who Allie and Dean are," she told Us Weekly earlier this month. "They both kind of have these fronts, these personas that are hard to crack through. They are stereotypes of themselves. But in the books, there's so much beneath the surface of Dean and there's so much beneath the surface of Allie."
"When it is time for our season, I'm excited to dig emotionally into that a little bit more," Mika continued. "We see Allie and Dean as their exteriors a lot in season one."
As fans wait for season two of Off Campus, keep reading for more binge-worthy book-to-screen adaptations.
