Jenna Ortega's Gothic Red Carpet Fashion Will Make You Scream With Delight

Jenna Ortega knows how to dazzle for winter, spring, summer and fall.

From award show red carpets and television appearances to movie premieres and fashion weeks, it's no mystery that the Wednesday star always sends a chill down our spine with her sultry style.

Take, for instance, her jaw-dropping Givenchy top adorned with multi-colored jewels at the 2025 Emmy Awards. Although the ensemble weighed at least 30 pounds, Ortega was up for the fashion challenge from her stylist Enrique Melendez.

"She was like, 'Enrique, I love you. But can we please do something more practical next time?' Because it was heavy," he said on the Plus One podcast in September 2025. "That thing was digging into her poor collarbone."

And her Academy Museum Gala look one month later was just as daring, as the 23-year-old stepped out in a Grace Ling leaf-shaped metallic breastplate. Although the ensemble was a showstopper, Melendez—who has worked with Ortega since 2014—wasn't sure how the look would come together.

"Even up to the night of the event, we worried it was too similar to the Emmys look, because it was a hardware top and column skirt," he admitted to Marie Claire that December. "I was losing sleep over it, because I didn't want her to feel like she's wearing [the same thing] back to back."

He ultimately gave the look two snaps, adding that once she walked onto the carpet, he knew they "made the right decision."

Although the Winter Spring Summer or Fall actress is always down to push the envelope when it comes to her look, she has continued to embrace a spooky, ooky color palette.

Indeed, she turned heads in her all-black Ann Démérémeester gown—featuring leather panels along the skirt—during a Wednesday screening in New York City last August. She also kept the dark hues alive at the 2026 Golden Globes in January with a daring Dilara Findikoglu gown adorned with beaded shoulder fringes.

"I've always respected goth culture," Ortega told Vogue in 2023. "I've always had a darker sense of humor, but I never felt like I was able to express that. Now I feel like I can embrace those qualities in myself."

But that's not to say the Scream actress only opts for dark colors. In fact, she stunned in a lilac Amiri gown and maroon wool shawl at the InStyle Imagemaker Awards 2025 in October. And she kept her look at the 2026 Actor Awards in March light with her cream-colored Christian Cowan lace dress.

"I am in a great phase of exploration in my life right now," Ortega explained to Vogue in April 2025. "I don't want to feel married to any one thing. When you have the opportunity to play, why don't you?"
