Star India batter Jemimah Rodrigues, along with spinners Sneh Rana and Radha Yadav, broke into a dance as the Women in Blue arrived in Delhi on Tuesday, November 4. Harmanpreet Kaur’s side created history on Sunday, November 2, at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, defeating South Africa by 52 runs in the final to clinch their maiden World Cup title.

The team, along with the support staff, reached Delhi on Tuesday, where they received a warm welcome at Hotel Taj Palace. Celebrations followed as they cut a cake, with Jemimah, Sneh, and Radha dancing joyfully to the beats of the dhol.

Jemimah Rodrigues played an instrumental role as the Women in Blue created history by winning the World Cup on November 2. Reacting to the historic achievement, she said [via India Today]:

“This team is different. All I’ll say is this team is different. I think more than anything else, what stood out for me in this tournament is that we didn’t have it all smooth, right? We had ups and downs, but everyone looked out for each other. There was always someone going over to comfort another when they were crying, giving them a shoulder to cry on.” “And that’s what a real champion team is all about. You know, it’s not about winning 10 matches straight in a row, it’s about knowing how to pick yourself up after a fall, and that’s exactly what this team did,” she added.

Jemimah Rodrigues featured in eight games during the tournament, scoring 292 runs in seven innings at an average of 58.40 and a strike rate of 101.03, including one half-century and one century.
