Harmanpreet Kaur’s side created history on Sunday, November 2, at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, defeating South Africa by 52 runs in the final to clinch their maiden World Cup title.
The team, along with the support staff, reached Delhi on Tuesday, where they received a warm welcome at Hotel Taj Palace. Celebrations followed as they cut a cake, with Jemimah, Sneh, and Radha dancing joyfully to the beats of the dhol.

Meanwhile, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to felicitate the team for their remarkable achievement on Wednesday, November 5. He had similarly honored the men’s team last year after their 2024 T20 World Cup triumph under the leadership of Rohit Sharma.

“This team is different. All I’ll say is this team is different. I think more than anything else, what stood out for me in this tournament is that we didn’t have it all smooth, right? We had ups and downs, but everyone looked out for each other. There was always someone going over to comfort another when they were crying, giving them a shoulder to cry on.” “And that’s what a real champion team is all about.
