Portnoy alluded to the notorious serial killer's brief study at Ohio State University to defend Michigan's conduct in the Sherrone Moore scandal. Moore coached the Wolverines for two seasons before he was fired for engaging in a relationship with a staff member.

According to ESPN, Sherrone Moore faces three criminal charges, as his Friday arraignment revealed details of the actions that led to his arrest and imprisonment mere hours after he was fired on Wednesday.

Moore has been charged with one felony, third-degree home invasion and two misdemeanours: namely, stalking in a domestic relationship and breaking and entering. His bond is set at $25,000. The report adds that some of the conditions for his bond include GPS tether monitoring, orders not to go to the victim's home, and no contact with the victim.

Michigan Wolverines preparing for Citrus Bowl

In the meantime, the Michigan Wolverines have one more game to play in the 2025 college football season. The Wolverines will face off against the Texas Longhorns in the Citrus Bowl on New Year's Eve.

The Michigan Wolverines have appointed Biff Poggi to serve as their interim coach for the Citrus Bowl. He'll lead the program due to the abrupt firing of Sherrone Moore. The Wolverines earned their Bowl Game slot by posting a 9-3 regular-season record. Their losses occurred against the Oklahoma Sooners, USC Trojans, and Ohio State Buckeyes.

The Steve Sarkisian-coached Texas Longhorns will battle with the Wolverines on New Year's Day. The Longhorns missed out on the playoffs after posting a 9-3 regular season record, which is the first time they've missed the CFP in three seasons.

The Longhorns lost against the Ohio State Buckeyes, Florida Gators, and Georgia Bulldogs. They will fancy their chances in the 2025 Citrus Bowl.
