Jeff Sperbeck, John Elway’s longtime agent, on life support after golf accident

Jeff Sperbeck, the agent and business partner of John Elway, is on life support after a tragic accident at a California golf course over the weekend, according to a TMZ report.

On Saturday, April 26, at a club in La Quinta, California, Sperbeck fell from the back of a moving golf cart and struck his head on the ground, according to reports. His wife and another bystander rushed to help him and emergency services were called right away.

Sperbeck was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center but doctors reportedly informed his family that he will not recover. He is currently on life support while arrangements are being made to donate his organs.

Sperbeck worked closely with Elway even before the legendary quarterback retired in 1998 and handled his football contracts as well as business ventures that took place after he retired. In 2013, the two co-founded a winery based in Napa called 7Cellars. Sperbeck represented more than 100 NFL players over the course of his career and was well respected throughout the league. 

Though he was not a high profile figure, it is said that he was a trusted figure behind some of football’s biggest names, such as Elway. 

Friends, family, and former clients are now rallying around Sperbeck’s loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.
