Jayson Tatum's true feelings about 76ers-Celtics Jaylen Brown trade, revealed

The past few days have felt like the Twilight Zone for Boston Celtics fans. They just saw Brad Stevens trade away Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers for an aging Paul George alongside two first-round picks. For quite some time, Jayson Tatum remained silent on the matter until he posted an Instagram story thanking his former running mate. Now, Jeff Teague reveals that even the Celtics superstar was in shock when first hearing the news.

Teague reveals how Celtics' Tatum feels about Brown trade to 76ers

Jayson Tatum is not the most vocal when it comes to matters that do not concern his own performance. He likes to live a private life with his sons and singer Ella Mai. But the Jaylen Brown trade just carried a very different magnitude. A lot of players started to gang up on Brad Stevens in the court of public opinion, while some fans just straight up denounced their fandom for the Celtics.

The question then became: 'Where does Tatum stand amid all of this trade fallout?' Jeff Teague had an answer, apparently calling Tatum just days after the Celtics traded Brown for George to the 76ers, via the Club 520 podcast.

"You know who's motivated, though? I talked to my boy yesterday. My boy JT is motivated. He was legit like, 'Damn, I can't believe that sh** went down. You know what I mean? That's some bulls***, really. They're like, 'Damn, he was shocked.' He was like, 'Damn, that's something weird.' Asking us questions, you know what I mean? Like, ' Damn, y'all believe that sh**?'," Teague revealed his conversation with the Celtics superstar.

Tatum will now be the one to fully take over as the main star in the Celtics system. But he is also allowed to feel all the emotions this transaction brought up. While Celtics fans are just losing a player on their favorite team, Tatum will see Brown as an in-division rival when they face the 76ers. More than that, there is likely also some lingering pain about what-ifs and things they were not able to accomplish due to this trade.

Motivation is one thing for the Celtics star. Can he dispel all of his injury woes and return to becoming a first-team All-NBA player?
