Jaylen Brown bids an emotional farewell to the Boston fans after the trade to Philly

It has been nearly two months since the Boston Celtics made the trade that sent Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers. Since then, Brown has made sure to get closer to the Philly community, but he always promised to come back to Boston to celebrate his time with the city.

That day has come, as over the weekend, Brown appeared at 741 Frequency Fest in Boston. Despite some Celtics fans already moving on from the move, Brown has made sure to tug on the heartstrings of the people in Boston with his farewell.

In the Celtics' modern history, there are only a handful of players who have a strong legacy like Brown. There have been plenty of awesome players over the years, but the Finals MVP from the 2024 NBA Finals is a special player for the franchise.

He and Jayson Tatum showcased excellent Celtics basketball for the longest time. It was one of the best partnerships of the 21st century, and they managed to get a championship before they were split up two years later. Brown himself loved his time in Boston, and he will always be connected to the community.

Throughout the summer, Brown has shown his love and adoration for the people of Boston. That is why he maintains a strong relationship with the fans despite getting traded to a 76ers team that is traditionally one of the Celtics' biggest rivals. 

"I love y'all, man. I ain't got too much to say because I'm lost for words. I'm seeing all these people out here; I love every single one of y'all... When I got to this city I said ‘I’m gonna go to war for this city...’ I just wanna say thank you to Boston. Thank you to the city, and I love you," Brown said at the 741 Frequency Fest in Boston.

Brown will now be a rival for the Celtics, but he will always be someone who will always get love from the fans. He might be playing for the opponents, but he has credit in the bank after all the trials and tribulations he helped Boston get past over the past decade.
