Niners fans are fed up with Brandon Aiyuk.
While Aiyuk had been a fan favorite during his first few seasons with the franchise (starting in 2020), the fact that he missed team-sanctioned medical and rehabilitation activities last season, combined with his daily rants calling out the franchise and asking to be released, have made him public enemy No. 1 in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Aiyuk has made his desire to play for the Commanders apparent, which would mean that his quarterback would be 25-year-old star Jayden Daniels.
If Daniels didn’t know how 49ers fans feel about Aiyuk, he’s certainly aware now, as a San Francisco fan went on a wild rant about Aiyuk when seeing Daniels at a July 3 sporting event, presumably a World Cup game.
“Hey, Jayden Daniels: F**k Brandon Aiyuk! F**k Brandon Aiyuk!” F**k Brandon Aiyuk, you better not throw s**t to him next season! I’m a Niner fan, f**k Brandon Aiyuk!” the fan said in the rant, which has since gone viral on social media.
While Daniels initially saluted the fan, he busted out in laughter as soon as the expletives started flowing while turning around to those behind him, as if he wanted others to see what was happening.
Despite his smile, Daniels didn’t look totally comfortable during the interaction, so it’s probably good that it ended when it did.
It remains to be seen whether Aiyuk will catch passes from Daniels next season. But his exit from San Francisco seems inevitable at this point and is what would appease all parties involved.
