Jason Williams makes passionate claim about Jared McCain's social media activity

Jared McCain has always been one of the most prominent players on social media. That dates back to his days at Duke University, when he regularly went viral with his TikTok content.

This did not stop when he entered the NBA, as he became one of people's favorites on TikTok. When he was with the Philadelphia 76ers, he always had content up, which was amplified when he was ruled out for his rookie season with an injury.

Williams is not a fan of McCain's social media

Now that he is with the Oklahoma City Thunder, McCain is being thrust into the defending champions' rotation. It is a massive step-up from the 76ers, where they were only seen as a good postseason team at best.

This move to the Thunder has not stopped McCain's social media activity. He has been in his own videos alongside the Thunder's content. Like most of his content, this has drawn the ire of some people.

As a player from the late 1990s and 2000s, Jason Williams has an old-school mentality. He is not a fan of what McCain is doing on social media because he thinks that it is a distraction.

"Should he delete the TikTok account? It is a big deal. If I’m in the locker room and I come out of that shower and I see Buddy over there doing a TikTok dance in the locker room, that’s a problem," Williams said on Hoopin' N Hollerin'.

"Maybe that’s why they don’t want vets in the locker room because it’s a TikTok era now... Bron can want whatever he wants. Jared McCain can’t."

Williams wants the best-case scenario for McCain, but he is not a fan of the social media presence. It is mostly about being more serious about his basketball career, but McCain has shown that he can still be productive while having fun.

He needs to strike the right balance between his fun social media presence and his NBA career. McCain has done well so far, and he will probably keep doing it because he is still a good player at the end of the day.
