While at Golden Globes 2026, White Lotus’ Jason Isaacs—who appeared in the HBO Max show’s third season—shared his reaction to the tres magnifique location its fourth season will be set in: France.

Emmys 2025: White Lotus' Jason Isaacs Reveals Where His Character Is Today
Jason Isaacs is daydreaming about his character’s passport.
While in attendance at the 2026 Golden Globes on Jan. 11, the 62-year-old—who played family patriarch Timothy Ratliff in The White Lotus’ third season—shared his honest reaction to the news that the show’s fourth season will be filmed in France.
“Pure jealousy,” Jason told Entertainment Tonight. “I can get a train from where I live to be in France. It’s not a 15-hour flight like it was in Thailand. But the truth is, I am jealous because I’ve got friends who are going to be in it, and they’re going to have the ride of their lives. There’s nobody writing or directing like [series creator] Mike White.”
Indeed, the Harry Potter alum will always remember Timothy’s wretched trip to Thailand, which ended in him almost serving poisonous smoothies to his wife Victoria Ratliff (Parker Posey) and their kids Saxon (Patrick Schwarzenegger), Piper (SarahCatherine Hook) and Lochlan (Sam Nivola) to cope with his financial troubles.
Jason’s performance ultimately earned him several award nominations, including Best Performance in a Supporting Role on Television at the Globes.
And now that he’s officially ended his stay at The White Lotus, he’s grateful for the memories he’s created at the resort—fatal drinks not included.
“It was a magnificent time,” he explained in the interview. “Mike White is a fabulous storyteller. You stand in his wake and things like [the Globes] happen to you. You get nominated for awards for being the luckiest in showbiz.”

Jason’s praise comes weeks after HBO confirmed Hunger Games alum Alexander Ludwig and Aly & AJ’s own AJ Michalka will join the upcoming season. The network also revealed this chapter will “follow a new group of White Lotus hotel guests and employees over the span of a week,” a premise that’s made the series a hit since its debut in 2021.
However, there’s one detail the show’s director is interested in keeping off the resort’s itinerary: Having characters die near or in water.
“For the fourth season, I want to get a little bit out of the crashing waves of rocks vernacular,” Mike explained during an “After the Episode” segment last April. “But there’s always more room for more murders at the White Lotus hotels.”

Nonetheless, Jason is excited to see this next installment come to life.
“Mike texted this morning,” the Peter Pan star told The Hollywood Reporter in December. “They’ve got their head already busy, deep in locations, in casting the next one. And like everybody else, I can’t wait to see it.”
