Jalen Hurts news should lead to trade with Jets for franchise quarterback

With the New York Jets searching for a long-term quarterback, there are a slew of options that have been mentioned in the past.

One of them has even been Jalen Hurts, the Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl winner, who has proven throughout his career that he can win with the best of them. On the flip side, Hurts probably isn't as good as some of the other top-echelon quarterbacks in the league, with many ranking him around the 10-to-17 mark.

I think Hurts is around the 10 mark, and he's hated on a touch too much, but that doesn't mean he's a perfect quarterback.

Regardless, with his contract situation currently impacting Philadelphia and him recently speaking about contract talks, I think there's a clear avenue for the Jets to land him if things go south in Philadelphia once again on the offensive side of things this year.

“For me, I'm truly focused on being the best I can be right now,” Hurts said of his contract talks, per Zach Berman. “That's where my energy is. There's a lot of change, as is. I'm focused on this offense. I'm focused on building with [offensive coordinator] Sean [Mannion] and being at my best.”

The one thing to watch out for here for the Jets is that if the Eagles struggle again offensively, especially with new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion, Hurts will probably get a lot of the blame for that. I don't know if the Jets would want to take a quarterback after that, so that's something to keep in mind.
