Jalen Hurts' mom, Pamela Hurts, is speaking out amid the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback's blood clot diagnosis.
The NFL star's mom took to TikTok on Monday, Oct. 19, “Prayers work, prayers work. Keep praying," she said. "Keep praising God. Keep lifting his name up. Keep the faith, keep believing.”
“Just a reminder, y’all. Be grateful,” she said. “Be grateful for where you are and what you have because your life could change at a blink of an eye. Be grateful. What are you grateful for?”
Pamela captioned the video, “Things could always be worse…”
Jalen was diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and bilateral pulmonary emboli, which is when a blood clot travels to another part of the body, per the Cleveland Clinic.
Nicole Lynn, Jalen's agent, made a statement on Monday about his condition.
“After further testing and monitoring, the current diagnosis is deep vein thrombosis as well as bilateral pulmonary emboli,” Lynn wrote. “He is clinically stable and has no significant functional limitations.”
Jalen was initially diagnosed with the blood clots during the Eagles' overseas game in London on Oct. 11 when they faced the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was cleared to play the game despite the team being aware of the blood clot. When the Eagles returned home, the clot had traveled from his leg to his lungs.
He will most likely miss the rest of the 2026 season.
What have the Eagles said about Jalen Hurts?
The Eagles also made a statement about Hurts' diagnosis and the future for the Super Bowl-winning quarterback.
“Jalen’s prognosis is very good, and we expect a full recovery,” the Eagles said on Monday. “We anticipate that he will have the opportunity to resume contact football activities when he is off blood thinners. In the meantime, he will remain active around the team and continue to condition. More importantly, we anticipate that he will have no long-term effects.”
The next Eagles game will be on Monday, Oct. 26, when they host the Dallas Cowboys.
