Since the New York Knicks traded for Jose Alvarado, he's made a significant impact on the team and provided a major boost off the bench that New York was sorely lacking in their reserve guards.
In five games, the Knicks are 3-2, and Alvarado is averaging 11.2 points and 2.6 steals per game, showing just how valuable he's been on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor.
Knicks star Jalen Brunson is happy to have Alvarado as a teammate after playing against him the last few years, and said as much to the media after last night's win over the Houston Rockets.
Jalen Brunson cracks jokes at Jose Alvarado's expense
Brunson was asked if it's more fun to play with Alvarado or more annoying to play against him, and the Knicks captain responded with some dry humor as per usual.
"More fun to play with him. Against him, I didn't really know he was on the other team. You guys can tell him I said that, too," Brunson joked with reporters.
"I really enjoy playing with him. He brings so much energy and so much life to our team. He does things that aren't always on the stats sheet."
Alvarado's trade deadline addition has been massive for the Knicks, especially since Deuce McBride has been sidelined with his core injury.
The former New Orleans Pelicans guard didn't always get noticed when he was on a losing team, but now that he's with New York, Alvarado is on display for the whole basketball world to see.
