Jaguars’ Travis Hunter predicted to play 3 positions in his rookie season; you’ll never guess the third

Travis Hunter is one of the most gifted football players ever.

The Jacksonville Jaguars traded up to take him with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft last Thursday, and for good reason.

Hunter was regarded by most as both the top wide receiver and the top cornerback in the draft class. He's expected to play both to some degree in the NFL, saying he'd retire if he didn't get to go both ways.

But how about another position?

That's what Drew Bishop of The Sporting News recently suggested in his predictions for Hunter's rookie season.

He predicts Hunter will see time at quarterback.

Here's the explanation:

In a recent YouTube video of Hunter visiting the Jaguars' facility and meeting Coen, the rookie offered his services as a thrower of the football.

“You know I can play quarterback too, right? I can throw the ball, so on trick plays,” Hunter said as he tossed a football at Coen.

It would not be surprising to see Hunter as a gadget option across the field. Not only could he be a quarterback, he could also be a threat out of the backfield.

Coen is a young, creative mind and he will try to involve Jacksonville's shiny new toy as much as possible.

Football fans everywhere would love to see that.

Hunter is explosive as heck with the ball in his hands.

If he's got any throwing ability at all, it'd just be another way to absolutely dominate opposing defenses. For those wondering: He never threw a pass in college.

Jacksonville obviously has a heavy investment at the quarterback position in Trevor Lawrence. Hunter would never hold down that role full time.

But a cameo here and there? No one would complain about that, except the other defensive coordinator.
